I deeply appreciate your critical thinking with the use of dissonant concepts from cognitive science, philosophy, economics, Jewish wisdom, etc. The fact that human nature is decidedly non-rational is very difficult for humans to accept, because of its cognitive dissonance. Penetrating that barrier to create room for positive social and cultural change is most difficult and can frustrate readers. However, I believe that becoming more fully conscious is a goal worth the risks and struggle. And it is a key goal and product of Jewish learning. This brings to mind one of my favorite sayings - "Don't believe everything you think."
